With a goal to become the industry leader around the global, LS Automotive Technologies is dedicating its utmost towards the R&D of new technologies. The R&D Center of LS Automotive Technologies, which was established in 1987 for the purpose of evolving LS Automotive Technologies into becoming a technology-leading company, is building comprehensive technological power and expertise in order to develop high-tech electrical components through continuous investment and with approximately 300 excellent R&D personnel. At the same time, the R&D Center is researching and developing LS Automotive Technologies's original technologies along with integrating advanced technologies with a goal to stay ahead of the trend of new technologies that are developing each day.

LS Automotive Technologies has established itself as a leader for the development of the intelligent human vehicle interface, which improves driver convenience by using an integrated user interface and organically controls various switches in a vehicle. Based on this, LS Automotive Technologies is developing key automotive components, such as revolution and torque sensors and image-related sensors for ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and various electrical devices to control vehicular functions. In addition, LS Automotive Technologies has attained a position as a general electrical components maker that produces inverters, converters, current sensors and revolution sensors applied to electric and hybrid vehicles, the green cars being built for the protection of the environment.

Since 2009, LS Automotive Technologies has been endeavoring to obtain CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) certification, a global development standard process, and thus has achieved ML2 and ML3. In 2012, it acquired "ASPICE Capability Level 2", the first to do so in Korea's automotive industry. With these achievements, LS Automotive Technologies has been focusing on product development, and thus advanced to become a key automotive components supplier for the advanced automotive industries in North America, Europe and Japan.

LS Automotive Technologies fulfills life-cycle functional safety requirements for the products of automotive electrical and electronic components systems by complying with ISO 26262, an international standard for automotive functional safety. In addition, with a focus placed on software assessment, it has further strengthened the safety of automobils by preventing risks that can occur as a result of malfunction of the automotive electrical system.
At the same time, to ensure reliability of its products, LS Automotive Technologies has upgraded product quality by securing professional human resources and establishing thermal analysis, structure and vibration analysis and optical analysis systems while reducing development cost and period. As such, LS Automotive Technologies is striving to achieve customer satisfaction from the outset of product design.

We digitalize all product data from design to production. In 2005, the center introduced a PLM system for collaborative production, management and information sharing to support the development of new products and technology.

PLM is an information management system for collaboration. Project, review, design, test, modify, work, completion, management, technical document management, drawing management, BOM, design, change, management, portal, etc. PLM provides data, electronic payment, collaboration, digitalization and functionality.
